New Zealand is unique, and so are our wines. Our special combination of soil, climate and water, our innovative pioneering spirit and our commitment to quality all come together to deliver pure, intense and diverse wines. At Snapper Rock we source fruit from two of New Zealand's most famous wine producing areas, Marlborough at the top of the South Island and Hawkes Bay on the east coast of the North Island.
Hawkes Bay’s alluvial plains, high sunshine hours and long ripening season create the ideal terroir for full bodied reds and it’s become a magnet for wine tourism.
Marlborough’s rolling valleys carved by ancient riverbeds and bright, long summer days with cool nights are ideal for the production of crisp, zesty whites and suave cool climate reds. Sauvignon Blanc propelled Marlborough onto the international stage and has ensured rapid growth over the last twenty years. We’re one of a small bevy of boutique producers tending special blocks within the valleys, always looking to unleash Marlborough’s potential and crafting wines of the land, pure, taut and focused.
We have crafted a range of affordable New Zealand wines that truly express the unique terroir and maritime climate of New Zealand. To make our wines we have leveraged off the local knowledge of some of New Zealand’s most talented young wine makers. Using fresh fruit driven styles of winemaking pioneered in the New World, we create wines that reflect the variety’s best suited to that region of New Zealand.
